#ZalandoSummerStyle

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a lovely week, the weather in England is typical British summer time weather... awful! Last week my mum came in from work and her friend had given her a bag with a skirt and hair spray in that she had been given when she was out at the weekend and she didn't want the skirt therefore she gave it to me.

Here is the cute canvas bag that the skirt and hair spray was in. I love this bag because I think its the perfect size for carrying my stuff to the beach or pool on holiday, just things like my phone, a book, money etc. I really like the slogan on the bag "I am ready to show off my legs". I think this is perfect for when I'm on holiday and the sun is shining because I will be wearing skirts, shorts and play-suits a lot more than I do in the UK just because the weather is just nicer and I want to get a good tan.
In the bag was this gorgeous black mini skirt with daisies on which I think is just so cute and summery. I will definitely be wearing this on holiday this year, I think it would look lovely with a black crop top and heels or even just a black vest for a casual day time look. This skirt is from the brand, Even&Odd and I love it. The material is absolutely gorgeous, its so soft, I love it. I still can't believe my mum's friend was given this skirt as I have been looking on the website and it is £15.00. There was also some John Frieda Frizz-Ease spray in the bag as well as the skirt. I have used this spray a few times and it does work really well so I will definitely keep on using it. It does say the spray will work better if you straighten your hair but honestly I think the last time I straightened my hair was December 2014!

My Natural Summer Make Up Look

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely week and enjoying the Summer Holidays. I'm so excited to go on holiday in August, I honestly can't wait. I decided to do a natural make up look which is kind of inspired by my holidays because I don't want to be wearing my normal foundation because of the heat, however I still want to wear a little bit of make up on the night or whatever. I love BB Creams I have been using them on and off for about 3 years and I honestly love them, I love how natural looking they are but yet good coverage for the days when you just don't want to wear foundation... I'm pretty sure we all have these days, don't we?
Here is the make up I used to create the look below. As you can see the make up look is quite natural, perfect when on holiday or anytime you don't feel like wearing foundation. I used The Body Shop's All In One BB Cream and I love it. Its hydrating and moisturising which is perfect. It also actually matches my skin tone which I think can be difficult to find in some BB Creams as some BB Creams I have tried are too dark or really orangey. I use the shade 02. I then did my eye make up, I chose a yellow-gold shade as I wanted something quite natural from my new MUA Poptastic palette, these colours are so bright and fun to create summer make up looks. I chose a natural shade that I thought would be perfect for a holiday make up look. I used my favourite brush ever to do my eye makeup!! I used my Bare Minerals Tapered Shadow and Crease brush, this brush is amazing, honestly its the best eye shadow brush I have ever used! I would definitely recommend it, it's incredible! For my mascara I used my sample of Benefit's Roller Lash, I really like this mascara, its great for dramatic lashes! I think its quite similar to Maybelline's Lash Sensational which is a more affordable option and in my opinion works just as well. I never used to be a big fan of this mascara, however recently I've been loving it! For my cheeks I used the middle shade in my Barry M Contour Kit as a bronzer, and Collection's Blush in Bashful which is a gorgeous shimmery pink shade, perfect for Summer. For my lips, I used one of my favourite lip glosses at the minute which is The Body Shop's Lip Gloss in 16, it doesn't have a name of the shade which is annoying but its a gorgeous pale pink, peachy colour.

My Favourite Beauty Products - Summer 2015

Hello I hope you are all having a lovely week, I break up from Sixth Form for the Summer Holidays on Friday and I can't wait, I'm so excited to go on holiday in the Summer and just chill. I'm going to Alicante with my two best friends in August and then the day after I get back from Alicante, I'm off to Malta with my family. I think this Summer is going to be the best one yet..

Todays blog post is going to include my favourite beauty must haves for Summer 2015, I absolutely love beauty products! This will be a small insight into what products I can't live without this Summer.. First of all, I have my skincare essentials and I have to say make up wipes are a must, especially in this hot weather as they are so quick and easy to use to freshen up as well to use to remove make up. The ones pictured below are tea tree ones but I just use any face wipes, I'm not really bothered what brand they are. However, tea tree products are supposed to be really good for your skin, I also have a tea tree cleanser and toner from the Body Shop which is amazing! Another skincare product I love is the Garnier Micellar Water, I bought the green lid one which is for combination and sensitive skin, I had the pink lid one before and I loved it so I thought I would try out a different one. I would definitely recommend this product, I bought one a few months ago and its only just ran out so it definitely is value for money. I actually prefer it to make up wipes because it really does cleanse your skin and gets rid off all of my make up. I bought it for £3.29 in Superdrug last week which is an absolute bargain considering it lasts so long! I also love the fact Garnier have released a mini version of this product as it will be so handy for when I go on my holidays, I love it. Another recent skincare purchase is something I have never tried before up until about a month ago which is Freederm, I have the fast track tube which says it reduces spot size and redness in three hours and I have to say it really does. I've never been one to get loads of spots but I do get the odd few so I think this is perfect to tackle my spots. I use it every night before I go to bed and I love it, I've never tried a spot treatment that has worked so well. The only thing I don't like is it dries out my skin but other than that I can't really complain!
Below are two products I can't live without this Summer, the first one is my Soho Nights perfume that I bought at a shop in New York called Aeropostale. This perfume is amazing, its so fresh and summery, I love it. I also love my Cheryl Storm Flower Body Lotion, I love this body lotion because it smells amazing and its shimmery. I love anything glittery so I just think this is amazing especially as it also moisturises your skin which is so important to do.
These are my favourite make up products for the Summer! I love experimenting with bright and bold make up looks in the Summer and I think this eye shadow palette is perfect for a bright make up look. This eye shadow palette is called Poptastic which is a brilliant name for these eye shadows as they are really bright, this product is from MUA and I have to say the quality of the eye shadows is amazing, they are really pigmented, I love them! The colours are gorgeous and perfect for a fun Summer make up look. Another one of my favourite products is something I have been using for ages which is the Bare Minerals Tapered Shadow and Crease brush which is incredible, its the best eye shadow brush I have ever used, I absolutely love it. Furthermore, as you can see below I have included quite a lot of lip glosses because I just think they are amazing to wear in the Summer. One lip gloss is a lip gloss from the Body Shop in a pinky peach kind of colour (it doesn't say the name/shade), I absolutely love this lip gloss as it smells amazing and the colour is absolutely perfect for a natural kind of look. I also included three mini lip glosses I got in a set of lip glosses for Christmas that were part of a collection therefore I picked out the ones I am most likely to wear in the Summer. I chose a light pink sparkly one, a bright pink one and a pinky purple sparkly one, these colours are gorgeous and perfect for a Summer make up look. I also love the size of them as I can take them anywhere which is always good especially when I'm going out and I haven't got much room in my bag. I left the best till last which are my beautiful Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipglosses, I absolutely love these lip glosses, I bought them on my recent trip to New York and I love them. Bare Minerals is one of my favourite brands, the quality of their products are amazing!!! I bought a set of double ended lip glosses in Sephora and I love them, there are three natural colours for during the day and three brighter, bolder colours for a night time. They are in the shades: Charmer and Spark Plug, Show Off and Hot Shot and Rebel and Stunner.

Northumbria University Summer School 2015

Hello everyone, this is going to be a different type of blog post compared to the usual make up stuff, but before I get on to that I just want to say thanks to all my readers, I got almost double the page views that I got in May in June and I'm so so thankful to everyone who reads my blog! Thanks so much, it means a lot. Christina xxxxxxx

Last week I visited Northumbria University from Monday 29th June till Wednesday 1st July and I have to say it was much better than I thought it would be, I was really impressed. I really didn't want to go on the Monday morning because I always get really nervous before things like this but I'm so glad I did go because I have to say I really enjoyed it. I met loads of new people and got to experience Uni life. I'm so glad I did the Northumbria Summer School because it really has given me confidence in wanting to go to University as I have had a little taster of what it will be like. I'm actually going to another Summer School in August at Edge Hill University and I'm really excited because I will be able to experience what life is like at another University!

When we arrived on the Monday we dropped our bags off in the hall and were given lanyards with some information in such as our group number, name and the activities we would be doing. We then went to Nixon Hall which was where we had a welcome talk and was given some information about the next few days. We were then sent off with our group to do some ice breakers, now I don't know about you but the idea of ice breakers is just horrendous like I hate them but I have to say I actually really enjoyed them as it gave me a chance to talk to my team and get to know them a bit. I was in a group with no one I had ever met before but I actually think that it was a good idea because I was able to meet friends and build confidence by just talking to new people. We then went for lunch and I decided to be healthy and have a chicken salad and it wasn't very nice, I don't know why I chose it to be honest. I then went to a Business subject taster session, Business is one of my favourite lessons at Sixth Form but I actually preferred the Education taster session I went to the next day. We then went to our rooms to drop our bags off and get ready for the meal on the night. We did a group project session before we went for dinner where we did a little challenge with our group. We went to Za Za Bazaar in Newcastle for dinner which is a buffet restaurant with loads of different cuisines so there is always something someone will like. After we then went to watch Northumbria's Got Talent Show which was much better than I was expecting, everyone who performed was amazing! We then went back to our rooms, we stayed in the Claude Gibb Halls which were pretty basic but the rooms were a good size, the only thing I didn't like was the rooms weren't en-suite and every time I needed the toilet I would have to leave my room, lock the door and walk down the hall to the toilets.

On the Tuesday, we had breakfast at 7:30 and then met our team at 8:45 to go to the daily update talk. We were then directed to our second subject taster session and mine was Education which I really enjoyed. I've being doing work experience in a local primary school on a Wednesday afternoon for almost a year and I absolutely love it so it was nice to hear students of the Primary Education course give their thoughts and experiences of the course. After that we had a skills workshop which included things like presentation skills and we also did the Belbin test as well but I had done this previously in a Business lesson at my Sixth Form. After that we had lunch outside because the weather was absolutely gorgeous and then took part in a sport session, I'm not a very sporty person at all tbh so I chose Zumba because I don't mind doing exercise classes and I really enjoyed it but it was tiring! We then had a Race against all the other teams where we were given 3 hours to complete as many challenges and bonus challenges as we could and I think we came 7 out of 10. After that we were given time to get ready before the party that night, the party on the Tuesday night was probably the best part of Summer School for me. I really enjoyed it and spent most of the night dancing!

On the Wednesday we had breakfast and went for our daily update where basically we would be told what we were doing that day. We then had a motivational speaker and it was Craig Heap, the British Olympic Gymnast who was a judge on the TV show Tumble this year. I absolutely love motivational speakers and I thought he was great, I love hearing different peoples stories and how they've achieved their goals. I honestly believe that if you work hard enough, you will be successful and you will achieve your goals and dreams! Never give up on your dreams...
After that we had a higher Education talk where we were put into groups depending on what cards were similar to our personalities and were told what we were like. After we went for Lunch and I have to say it was one of the best meals I had at Summer School, I had a pork dinner with a huge yorkshire pudding which was absolutely delicious!!! After lunch we said goodbye to our team and our reps and were given the results to the race each team took part in and then we left for home. As soon as we left it started raining, thundering and lightening and we ended up going in the wrong direction so it was a nightmare! We eventually ended up at the bus station but thankfully there was a bus within 10 minutes so we didn't have to wait long at all!

I really enjoyed the Northumbria Summer School, I made new friends and I actually feel like my confidence has grown. I would definitely recommend going to a Summer School if you are unsure of whether or not to go to University as it will give you a little taster. I hope you can find this blog post helpful and informative xxx
