Edge Hill University Residential

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a lovely week. It's not long until I go on my holidays which I am super excited about. I just wanted to say my blog posting schedule might be a bit crazy over the next few weeks as I go on holiday on Wednesday with my friends for a week then the day after I get back, I'm going on holiday again with my family so I'm going to try and squeeze a blog post in. I hope you are all enjoying the Summer holidays. I usually find the holidays a little bit boring but I've been so busy recently which has been great because I'd rather be busy than doing nothing.

This week from Monday 3rd August until Thursday 6th August I went to a residential at Edge Hill University and I have to say it was amazing!!! It was 1000 times better than I thought it would be, I recently went to one at Northumbria University which is only about 1 hour away from where I live and that was good but they were both completely different. Edge Hill University is a campus based university and Northumbria University is in Newcastle so it's in the city. Personally, I think everyone at Edge Hill University was so friendly and nice which was great as it meant it was really easy to make friends. The thing that shocked me the most was I could actually see myself going there which is something I never expected.  I loved every minute and to be honest, I kind of wish it had been a bit longer like a full week. I was actually gutted to be coming home, it had a great community feel and to be honest I just loved it. I never expected to like it half as much as I did, it was amazing!

The accommodation was fantastic, it was definitely the best university accommodation I have seen/stayed in, it was so modern, I loved it. We stayed in Chancellors Court which has all en-suite rooms. When I go to university, I think I will definitely get an en-suite room. We also had a massive kitchen with a beautiful view of the lake which was so nice, the kitchen was a great size and we usually chilled out there when we had free time.

I was so nervous when I arrived on the Monday, I really didn't know what to expect as I didn't know anyone but I have to say I am so glad I went, I honestly feel like my confidence has grown so much. I'm quite a chatty person so I found it quite easy to make friends, I made two friends in my business class who were like the loveliest girls ever, they were so nice and I think we are definitely going to keep in touch. We had to do a presentation for Business and we worked in a little group which was great, we did our presentation on the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs and I really enjoyed creating it and researching for the information. I also made friends with the people who were in my block and we all had a Domino's on the Tuesday night which was good as we were able to get to know each other more and socialise which was great as we all made friends. I also really enjoyed the quiz and disco on the Wednesday night, I made some great friends and we all loved dancing and partying which was so much fun! I was actually really sad to come home, I really enjoyed my time at the Edge Hill Residential, I loved every minute of it!

I also did a tour of the area before I left which was great, I managed to speak to some people I had met on the first night and they were so lovely, it was so nice making friends. Ormskirk was really nice and I really liked the area. There was loads of nice bars, restaurants and shops which is great. I also liked the fact Edge Hill wasn't that far away from Liverpool which is good as I think Liverpool is great for shopping.

Thanks so much for reading!
