My Favourite Beauty Products - Summer 2015

Hello I hope you are all having a lovely week, I break up from Sixth Form for the Summer Holidays on Friday and I can't wait, I'm so excited to go on holiday in the Summer and just chill. I'm going to Alicante with my two best friends in August and then the day after I get back from Alicante, I'm off to Malta with my family. I think this Summer is going to be the best one yet..

Todays blog post is going to include my favourite beauty must haves for Summer 2015, I absolutely love beauty products! This will be a small insight into what products I can't live without this Summer.. First of all, I have my skincare essentials and I have to say make up wipes are a must, especially in this hot weather as they are so quick and easy to use to freshen up as well to use to remove make up. The ones pictured below are tea tree ones but I just use any face wipes, I'm not really bothered what brand they are. However, tea tree products are supposed to be really good for your skin, I also have a tea tree cleanser and toner from the Body Shop which is amazing! Another skincare product I love is the Garnier Micellar Water, I bought the green lid one which is for combination and sensitive skin, I had the pink lid one before and I loved it so I thought I would try out a different one. I would definitely recommend this product, I bought one a few months ago and its only just ran out so it definitely is value for money. I actually prefer it to make up wipes because it really does cleanse your skin and gets rid off all of my make up. I bought it for £3.29 in Superdrug last week which is an absolute bargain considering it lasts so long! I also love the fact Garnier have released a mini version of this product as it will be so handy for when I go on my holidays, I love it. Another recent skincare purchase is something I have never tried before up until about a month ago which is Freederm, I have the fast track tube which says it reduces spot size and redness in three hours and I have to say it really does. I've never been one to get loads of spots but I do get the odd few so I think this is perfect to tackle my spots. I use it every night before I go to bed and I love it, I've never tried a spot treatment that has worked so well. The only thing I don't like is it dries out my skin but other than that I can't really complain!
Below are two products I can't live without this Summer, the first one is my Soho Nights perfume that I bought at a shop in New York called Aeropostale. This perfume is amazing, its so fresh and summery, I love it. I also love my Cheryl Storm Flower Body Lotion, I love this body lotion because it smells amazing and its shimmery. I love anything glittery so I just think this is amazing especially as it also moisturises your skin which is so important to do.
These are my favourite make up products for the Summer! I love experimenting with bright and bold make up looks in the Summer and I think this eye shadow palette is perfect for a bright make up look. This eye shadow palette is called Poptastic which is a brilliant name for these eye shadows as they are really bright, this product is from MUA and I have to say the quality of the eye shadows is amazing, they are really pigmented, I love them! The colours are gorgeous and perfect for a fun Summer make up look. Another one of my favourite products is something I have been using for ages which is the Bare Minerals Tapered Shadow and Crease brush which is incredible, its the best eye shadow brush I have ever used, I absolutely love it. Furthermore, as you can see below I have included quite a lot of lip glosses because I just think they are amazing to wear in the Summer. One lip gloss is a lip gloss from the Body Shop in a pinky peach kind of colour (it doesn't say the name/shade), I absolutely love this lip gloss as it smells amazing and the colour is absolutely perfect for a natural kind of look. I also included three mini lip glosses I got in a set of lip glosses for Christmas that were part of a collection therefore I picked out the ones I am most likely to wear in the Summer. I chose a light pink sparkly one, a bright pink one and a pinky purple sparkly one, these colours are gorgeous and perfect for a Summer make up look. I also love the size of them as I can take them anywhere which is always good especially when I'm going out and I haven't got much room in my bag. I left the best till last which are my beautiful Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipglosses, I absolutely love these lip glosses, I bought them on my recent trip to New York and I love them. Bare Minerals is one of my favourite brands, the quality of their products are amazing!!! I bought a set of double ended lip glosses in Sephora and I love them, there are three natural colours for during the day and three brighter, bolder colours for a night time. They are in the shades: Charmer and Spark Plug, Show Off and Hot Shot and Rebel and Stunner.

Northumbria University Summer School 2015

Hello everyone, this is going to be a different type of blog post compared to the usual make up stuff, but before I get on to that I just want to say thanks to all my readers, I got almost double the page views that I got in May in June and I'm so so thankful to everyone who reads my blog! Thanks so much, it means a lot. Christina xxxxxxx

Last week I visited Northumbria University from Monday 29th June till Wednesday 1st July and I have to say it was much better than I thought it would be, I was really impressed. I really didn't want to go on the Monday morning because I always get really nervous before things like this but I'm so glad I did go because I have to say I really enjoyed it. I met loads of new people and got to experience Uni life. I'm so glad I did the Northumbria Summer School because it really has given me confidence in wanting to go to University as I have had a little taster of what it will be like. I'm actually going to another Summer School in August at Edge Hill University and I'm really excited because I will be able to experience what life is like at another University!

When we arrived on the Monday we dropped our bags off in the hall and were given lanyards with some information in such as our group number, name and the activities we would be doing. We then went to Nixon Hall which was where we had a welcome talk and was given some information about the next few days. We were then sent off with our group to do some ice breakers, now I don't know about you but the idea of ice breakers is just horrendous like I hate them but I have to say I actually really enjoyed them as it gave me a chance to talk to my team and get to know them a bit. I was in a group with no one I had ever met before but I actually think that it was a good idea because I was able to meet friends and build confidence by just talking to new people. We then went for lunch and I decided to be healthy and have a chicken salad and it wasn't very nice, I don't know why I chose it to be honest. I then went to a Business subject taster session, Business is one of my favourite lessons at Sixth Form but I actually preferred the Education taster session I went to the next day. We then went to our rooms to drop our bags off and get ready for the meal on the night. We did a group project session before we went for dinner where we did a little challenge with our group. We went to Za Za Bazaar in Newcastle for dinner which is a buffet restaurant with loads of different cuisines so there is always something someone will like. After we then went to watch Northumbria's Got Talent Show which was much better than I was expecting, everyone who performed was amazing! We then went back to our rooms, we stayed in the Claude Gibb Halls which were pretty basic but the rooms were a good size, the only thing I didn't like was the rooms weren't en-suite and every time I needed the toilet I would have to leave my room, lock the door and walk down the hall to the toilets.

On the Tuesday, we had breakfast at 7:30 and then met our team at 8:45 to go to the daily update talk. We were then directed to our second subject taster session and mine was Education which I really enjoyed. I've being doing work experience in a local primary school on a Wednesday afternoon for almost a year and I absolutely love it so it was nice to hear students of the Primary Education course give their thoughts and experiences of the course. After that we had a skills workshop which included things like presentation skills and we also did the Belbin test as well but I had done this previously in a Business lesson at my Sixth Form. After that we had lunch outside because the weather was absolutely gorgeous and then took part in a sport session, I'm not a very sporty person at all tbh so I chose Zumba because I don't mind doing exercise classes and I really enjoyed it but it was tiring! We then had a Race against all the other teams where we were given 3 hours to complete as many challenges and bonus challenges as we could and I think we came 7 out of 10. After that we were given time to get ready before the party that night, the party on the Tuesday night was probably the best part of Summer School for me. I really enjoyed it and spent most of the night dancing!

On the Wednesday we had breakfast and went for our daily update where basically we would be told what we were doing that day. We then had a motivational speaker and it was Craig Heap, the British Olympic Gymnast who was a judge on the TV show Tumble this year. I absolutely love motivational speakers and I thought he was great, I love hearing different peoples stories and how they've achieved their goals. I honestly believe that if you work hard enough, you will be successful and you will achieve your goals and dreams! Never give up on your dreams...
After that we had a higher Education talk where we were put into groups depending on what cards were similar to our personalities and were told what we were like. After we went for Lunch and I have to say it was one of the best meals I had at Summer School, I had a pork dinner with a huge yorkshire pudding which was absolutely delicious!!! After lunch we said goodbye to our team and our reps and were given the results to the race each team took part in and then we left for home. As soon as we left it started raining, thundering and lightening and we ended up going in the wrong direction so it was a nightmare! We eventually ended up at the bus station but thankfully there was a bus within 10 minutes so we didn't have to wait long at all!

I really enjoyed the Northumbria Summer School, I made new friends and I actually feel like my confidence has grown. I would definitely recommend going to a Summer School if you are unsure of whether or not to go to University as it will give you a little taster. I hope you can find this blog post helpful and informative xxx

I hope you enjoyed my blog post.

Gorgeously Glowing palette look!

Hello! Welcome to my weekly blog post. I hope you are all having a really good weekend, I went to see Spy at the cinema yesterday and it was really funny, so if you are thinking of going to see it, I would definitely recommend it. Enjoy the rest of today as well xxxxxx

Today's blog post is about creating a Gorgeously Glowing look. I recently bought a set of two Bare Minerals palettes when I visited New York and I have featured them on a few blog posts such as "A few things I bought in New York" and the "Beautifully Bronzed palette look". I decided to create a look with this palette as last week I uploaded my Beautifully Bronzed look. I have to say I absolutely love this make up look, I just think it looks so natural.

For my foundation, I used No7's Instant Radiance Foundation, this foundation is amazing for making my face glowy and dewy, the coverage is also really great and it feels so light. I have featured this foundation in many of my blog posts and I definitely think it is one of the best liquid foundations I have ever used. I then did my eye shadow with my Bare Minerals Tapered Shadow and Crease brush which is just amazing, its my favourite eye shadow brush EVER!!! For my eyes I used the shades Opulence, Kismet and Apropos which are absolutely gorgeous shades, perfect for subtle night time eye make up. I then applied the highlighter in the shade, The Magic Moment which is a gorgeous golden tan colour, perfect for highlighting! For my cheeks, I also applied the blush in The Natural High which is an absolutely beautiful bright shade of pink. Finally, for my lips I wore Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Show Off, this is an amazing nude pink colour.
I just want to say thanks to all my blog readers, new and old readers, I couldn't do this without you! I hope you like this blog post and if you have read my Beautifully Bronzed post as well, comment and tell me which one you prefer. I think I like this look better!

My SS15 Beauty MUST HAVES

Hello readers, I hope you are all having a lovely Monday! I have decided to do a different kind of blog post today so I hope you all like it. This blog post is a wish list of a few products I am desperate to try this Summer.

The first item I really want to try as it looks amazing is the limited edition Magnitone Lucid by Pixie Lott. This product is currently priced at £69.99 on the Magnitone website, https://magnitone.co.uk/shop/magnitone-lucid-limited-edition-pixie-lott/. I think this product looks amazing, I have heard so many amazing reviews about it, I can't wait to try it. I like the fact it offers two settings a deep clean and a sensitive setting as my skin is very sensitive. Furthermore, it also states on the website that this product is more gentle and effective at cleansing the face than hand washing the face which makes the product even more appealing as I know my face will be squeaky clean. I think this product will be great and I can't wait to try it.
My second product I really want to try is the Paco Rabanne Lady Million perfume, I have been wanting to get this perfume for ages as it smells amazing. I love the Paco Rabanne fragrances as the smell divine, I'm a huge fan of perfumes and I'm always wanting to try new ones. Feel Unique have Lady Million on offer at the minute for £42.50 for a 50ml bottle which is really good value for a gorgeous smelling perfume.

My final product I would like is a Beauty Blender, I have heard so many amazing things about them and I definitely think I am going to buy one soon. I always apply my foundation with a sponge as I think this is the best way to apply foundation to my skin as brushes I have used in the past just don't match up to using sponges. I can't wait to buy one as I've heard Beauty Blenders completely change the way people do make up.

Thanks for reading and I hope you've enjoyed my blog post about a few beauty bits I would love to try.

Beautifully Bronzed palette look!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I just want to say thanks to all the people who read my blog posts, I really appreciate it. I hit 3,000 page views yesterday and I am over the moon!! Thanks so much for your support xxxxxxxxxx

Today I thought I would do a blog post on one of the make up palettes I bought in Sephora from my recent trip to New York, if you are interested in my New York blog post or things I bought in New York I suggest you check them out now. The palette I used was the Bare Minerals Beautifully Bronzed palette which came in a set with the Bare Minerals Gorgeously Glowing palette, these palettes are amazing. Bare Minerals has been my favourite make up brand for a while now, their make up is gorgeous and the quality of the make up is incredible. I would definitely recommend Bare Minerals to anyone wanting to try a new brand as even though their prices are expensive, its definitely worth it.

To create this look, I used two foundations and mixed them together, I used No7's Instant Radiance Foundation in Cool Vanilla and the L'Oreal Paris Infallible 24HR Matte Foundation in Natural Rose, I think these foundations really compliment each other and are both amazing quality. I then used the Beautifully Bronzed palette, first of all I used the eye shadows, these are amazing they come in some gorgeous shades and blend really well. The palette comes with three eye shadows in the shades Magnate, Future and Cognac which are absolutely amazing shades perfect for a subtle daytime look or a dramatic night time look. I used my Bare Minerals Tapered eye shadow and Crease brush which is the best eyeshadow brush I have ever used. I then applied my favourite Bare Minerals mascara which I have been using for a couple of months which is the Bare Minerals Flawless Definition mascara. It is absolutely amazing! I then used the bronzers from the Beautifully Bronzed palette which are the Ocean View and High Dive bronzers which are such gorgeous colours that are perfect for the summer to give a splash of colour to any make up look. For my lips, I used the Bare Minerals Mini Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Spark Plug, this shade is gorgeous, I love the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipglosses I bought 3 double ended ones in New York and I have been loving them ever since.

Lotions and Potions

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! Today I have a few body lotions and body butters to share with you, I love moisturising as its so important to moisturise your skin and it leaves you smelling amazing!! I have been moisturising twice a day with these lotions and body butters and I think they are all great in different ways.

The Storm Flower body lotion by Cheryl is my favourite body lotion partly because I'm a huge fan of hers and I love her fragrances but also because the body lotion is a shimmering body lotion which means its GLITTERY!!! I am obsessed with this body lotion, it seriously is amazing and leaves my skin with a gorgeous shimmering glow. I got my Storm Flower body lotion for Christmas in the Cheryl Storm Flower Eau De Parfum 50ml Gift Set which comes with a 50ml bottle of perfume and a 75ml shimmering body lotion. This is an amazing body lotion because it smells incredible! I would recommend the gift set which I have found on Feel Unique for £20.97 which is an amazing price considering you get a bottle of perfume and this amazing body lotion! I also saw there is a 30ml gift set sold on the Feel Unique website and with that gift set you get a bottle of body wash instead of body lotion so if your not keen on body lotion but want to buy a Storm Flower gift set I would recommend you buy the 30ml one which is currently about £16.77, what a bargain!

Another one of my favourite body lotions is the Paco Rabanne Black XS sensual body lotion, I absolutely love Black XS both the perfume and the body lotion, they smell incredible. If you haven't smelt this scent yet I would definitely recommend you try it next time you go perfume shopping. Black XS has been one of my favourite fragrances for years, actually all of the Paco Rabanne fragrances smell amazing, Lady Million is one I'm hoping to buy soon as it smells fabulous!! I got my Black XS body lotion in the gift set and I have found it on Fragrance Direct for £33.99 which is an amazing price for the quality and smell of the products, the gift set includes 50ml of perfume and 100ml body lotion and I can definitely say I will be repurchasing this soon! I also have to say I think this body lotion is the most moisturising and kind to skin.

Next I have another one of my favourite body lotions which is Ghost The Fragrance moisturising body lotion, I got this with the perfume in a gift set but I can't seem to find the gift set on any websites so I will apologise in advance as I can't tell you how much it costs however I did find the perfume on its own on The Fragrance Shop website and a 50ml bottle of perfume is £33.50. I love this body lotion, I think it smells amazing and is lovely and nourishing!!

Another one of my favourite body lotions is from a company called I love... and its their Raspberry and Blackberry body lotion and I have to say this is fabulous! I mean it just smells delicious, the smell is amazing. I would definitely recommend this body lotion if you're on a budget but wanting a rich smelling body lotion as this does the job. I find that when I use it, I only need to use a small amount compared to the other body lotions. I've only got a small 60ml body lotion but recently I've seen 250ml body lotions for about £2.50 - £3 in Superdrug and a few supermarkets.

The last products I've got are body butters, I absolutely love body butters, the Body Shop have the most amazing body butters in loads of different flavours and the Pink Grapefruit one is my favourite! Here I have three of the I love... body butters in the flavours: Coconut and Cream, Mango and Papaya and Strawberries and Cream and I have to say they all smell incredible. I received these in a gift set for Christmas and I think they are much cheaper than the Body Shop so if you are looking for a cheaper alternative I would definitely recommend these. My favourite body butter is the Strawberries and Cream one as personally I think it smells amazing. What I love about these body lotions is they don't smell overpowering and are so moisturising!

Thanks for reading, I hope you liked it x

A Few Things I Picked Up In NEW YORK!

As you could see from my last post I had the time of my life in New York, it was absolutely incredible. If you're thinking of going, I would definitely recommend it. When I was in New York we managed to squeeze in a few hours shopping in between the tourist attractions. I went in to three Sephora's in New York and had a look but my favourite was the one in Times Square as I thought it had the best choice of Bare Minerals make up and it was really close to my hotel. I bought a few things from Sephora such as a Bare Minerals Bronzed and Luminous Kit which is a set of two palettes that can be used to create bronzed and glowing make up looks, a Bare Minerals Gloss on the Go Kit which includes 3 double ended lip glosses which are perfect from going from a daytime look to a night time look and a Sephora Green Tea Face Mask which I can't wait to try as I love face masks.

As soon as I saw the Bare Minerals Bronzed and Luminous Make up palettes I knew I would have to get them. I thought the packaging was gorgeous and I love the quality of Bare Minerals make up. Bare Minerals Eyeshadows and Lipglosses are amazing, they are definitely my favourite brand for make up.
The Beautifully Bronzed palette includes three Eyeshadows, two Bronzers and one Lipgloss. The Eyeshadows are Magnate, Future and Cognac, the Bronzers are The Ocean View and The High Dive and the Lipgloss is a Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Spark Plug.

The Gorgeously Glowing palette is amazing too, these palettes are going to be amazing to use to create different looks. What I love about them is they are the perfect size for travelling as they've got Lipgloss, Eyeshadows and Bronzer or Blush therefore they will be dead handy when I go away in the summer as I won't have to take a large amount of make up as most of it will be in one of these amazing palettes. The Gorgeously Glowing palette also includes three Eyeshadows, one Blusher, one Illuminator and a Lipgloss. The Eyeshadows are Opulence, Kismet and Apropos, the blusher is The Natural High and the Illuminator is The Magic Moment and the Lipgloss is a Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Show Off.

I also bought the Gloss on the Go kit which includes three double ended Lipglosses. As you can see the daytime shades are quite a soft natural shade and the night time shades are more vibrant and bold shades. I didn't realise but two of the shades I got in the other palettes, I got in this one which is amazing as the colours are gorgeous and the Bare Minerals Lipglosses are my favourites. The more natural shades are Charmer, Show Off and Rebel which are absolutely gorgeous shades and the bolder shades are Spark Plug, Hot Shot and Stunner. I think these are great value and so handy for when you are wanting to change your lip colour when your out and about as you only have to take one lip gloss rather than two.
I will post looks over the next few weeks using the Bare Minerals Gloss on the Go and the Bronzed and Luminous palettes. I will also post a review of the Sephora Green Tea Face Mask as I haven't used mine yet.

I also went to another shop called Aeropostale which I absolutely loved. I bought a really nice t-shirt from there as well as this amazing perfume. This perfume smelt exactly like Paco Rabanne Black XS perfume and was like quarter of the price therefore I thought it was an absolute bargain. This perfume just smells absolutely heavenly and I think the packaging and bottle is super cute, I love it.
